The DeWalt company was first established in 1922 with the introduction of its line of portable electric tools, and established itself with perfecting the first radial arm for woodworking applications called the DeWalt “Wonder Worker” in 1924. Its founder, Raymond E. DeWalt followed in his father’s footsteps by doing construction and mill jobs after finishing his schooling. Constantly nagged by the costs of high labor, he would often rig up machines to meet some these special requirements that lead to his becoming the head of a woodworking mill manufacturing a variety of things from boxes to houses. Eventually his ingenuity shone again and he invented the the first motorized mounted saw that did the work of four men, thus cutting labor costs. From thereon, the DeWalt company has continued to develop new and exciting carpentry tools that have revolutionized the woodworking industry.

Yes-thats all very well,
But having invested thousands of pounds in dewalt power tools,I am very unhappy at my lastest breakdown.

A Dewalt DW 306K,rociprocating saw.
hardly used (brushes literally unworn)-and only for light diy
Has shredded the main crown wheel, and pinion gears for absolutely no reason.

Cost of those two parts come to over £100-so saw is now scrap

Good tools………sometimes
